For centuries, peddlers criss-crossed plains and mountains trading or selling the traditional products
from one region to the inhabitants in need in other regions.
Beyond the products of day-to-day needs, our ancestors sought out lace, knives, candles, haberdashery, tin-ware, tableware, objects made of lathed box-wood, statues of the Saints, scissors, drinking glasses, wooden trinkets, spices, salt, tobacco... and hundreds of other items that you will rediscover as you browse through this site or in our shop.
It seems useful to us, as the 20th century came to a close, to scour the French countryside in order to take stock of the craftsmen and the small workshops still making local traditional objects with respecting ancestral techniques and materials. These are the rare products that you will find in our shop in Provins.
